Ebenezer

The past two weeks have been pretty busy for us. It feels like we just stopped running. And now I have a cold. Yuck. Anyway, 2 weekends ago, we had a conference for those of us who have been in Central Eastern Europe for about a year. It's called Ebenezer in reference to 1 Samuel 7:3-14 in recognizing that God has brought us 'thus far'. It was a great time to reflect on how faithful God has been in the last 12 months especially through some of the rough times. It was also a great time to hang out with friends from training and eat at some of our favorite restaurants here in Prague. Matt and I were a little sad we didn't get to travel anywhere new since the conference was in our city but at the same time, it was great to sleep in our own bed every night.



Yes, I am eating Pop Tarts. The volunteers brought us a huge trunk of American goodies and Matt and I scored some Pop Tarts and Hungry Jack pancake mix - yummy!



Here we are eating with our buddies Andy and Kaye. They are actually a part of Western Europe but in March our regions will be merging so hopefully we'll see them more often!

In other news, we head out again later this week for a student ski retreat near the Czech/German border. Hopefully, there will be snow for everyone (except me!) to enjoy the skiing or snowboarding. Matt is going to attempt snowboarding for the first time so there should be some great pictures coming up soon. We're also excited that we've been given permission as well as a room to have an International Bible Study at one of the dorms at the Czech Technical University. It's an area we've had our eye on for a while because it's one of the few schools around here with an actual campus instead of random buildings scattered throughout the city like Charles University. It's a great opportunity to reach a lot of students (about 15,000) who are concentrated in one area of town so we're really thankful.
