Don't Fence Me In

The weekend of April 16 was a sad one for Bryce. Well, part of the weekend was sad. His beloved fence with all its holes and adventure was removed. In its place a brand new fence was erected, without the escape hatches to the front yard and beyond. The rest of the weekend was awesome for Bryce because he had not one, but two grandpas ("Papaw!") AND Mamaw AND Abby. And his Daddy took Friday off of work so that made it extra special. He also figured out a socket wrench on his own and tried to dismantle the fence as it was going up (not pictured because I was on the phone with his pediatrician's office trying to make an appointment to figure out why he was running a 102 fever the night before - he's fine now.) I'm also really mad at myself for not getting a picture of Bryce and his grandpas working.

.

So anyway, with the help and expertise of our two dads, we have a brand new fence to frame all the other improvements we've made to the yard. I even got a few teeny tiny plants in a flower bed that will hopefully one day be a beautiful perennial garden.

The weekend before The Fence we left Matt to catch up on some work and visit Bryce's Uncle Brian, Aunt Jennifer, and cousins Siler and Caleb in San Antonio. Bryce was a little afraid of his rambunctious cousins at first, but he settled right in. They danced, wrestled, played instruments, and even got to visit the beautiful Guadalupe State Park. It was a great weekend. If you don't count me getting sick.

This is a picture of Bryce wearing one of my shirts I was about to throw away. I thought it was adorable and it really put it into perspective just how little he still is - even though he seems huge to me.
