Movin' On Up!

The biggest news of the month: We're getting an ELEVATOR!!!!

Our very meticulous workers started working on installing an elevator when Charlotte (Matt's mom) was here. Now, they're actually making upward progress. Matt checks on it obsessively several times a day. We're hoping they finish before winter sets in but won't be surprised if they stop mid-stride and finish up when the warm weather returns (after we're gone, of course).

Anchoring the first piece of the frame to the building.

The awesome pulley they use for everything. OSHA doesn't live here

It's hard to tell here but they're about 2 floors up, working on the frame.

From the inside.

In other news, we took Bryce in for his two month appointment last week and he's doing great. He now weighs 11 lbs and is 22 1/2 inches long (he was 7 lbs 6 oz and 19 inches when he was born). He's gone from the 10th percentile in height and weight at his first post op to the 50th percentile. He should have gotten his first round of shots but he doctor was uncomfortable giving him so many shots at once because of his surgery and everything else. So he got one oral vaccination and he's on a modified shot schedule that will have him on track by the time he's 6 months old. That means next week he'll get three shots :( He's become quite a talker and is generally a very happy baby. It's amazing how we have a play mat, a bouncy seat, a swing, and a sweet stroller and the kid is happiest laying on his back on his changing table. Here's a video of the happy boy himself on said changing table:

We've also gotten back into stride with work here in the city. By we, I mean Matt, considering my days revolve around a three hour cycle. Our new supervisor, Steve - not to be confused with our old supervisor, Steve - has started a new international church here called Bridge Community. Matt's been really involved getting that started and is also working with our University partners in the city to get things off and running for the fall semester, which is just about to start here. Last Sunday we had a get-together for Bridge Community as a way to get to know non-believers, especially Czechs in a fun environment. We had a picnic at a local park and the guys played flag football. Not only was Matt the cutest guy out there, but I have to say he was the most athletic. That's my man. Here are a few photos (some of them I *borrowed* from one of our intern's facebook):

What a stud.

This would be Jerry, Matt's teammate (notice he has the same color flags), trying to get the ball from Matt. Apparently he did not want Matt to score that touchdown. Did I mention he was on Matt's team?

Try not to be jealous.

Bryce's future girlfriend. He's got some catching up to do.

Enjoying the picnic.
