This is the beach in Estepona (where we stayed). In the distance you can see Gibraltar.
A windy day on the beach. Of course, my hair blew all in my face.
Waves crashing on the rocks.
Me walking on the beach.
The coast.
The Balcón de Europa (Balcony of Europe), a promenade in Nerja that juts out over the Mediterranean.
Sunset on the Balcón.
More coast.
Sunset on the Mediterranean.
And now...New Year's. We went to some friends' place for New Year's last night. They have a roof terrace where we could see all of the city fireworks. Matt, our friend Greg, and several other brave souls headed out at about 10:45 to the center of town (Wenceslas Square) to watch the bedlam that is New Year's in Prague (in 20 degree weather, no less). There are basically no fireworks regulations. Anyone and everyone buys fireworks (like, the big ones) and shoots them at will, at buildings, other people, into open windows... It's madness. I stayed at home where it was safe and warm and ventured upstairs to the terrace at midnight to watch the craziness from a distance. Greg took his camera and caught some video footage.
